Upper Valley Aquatic Center Announces Wendy Bordeau as New Executive Director

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT – (August 13, 2026) – The Upper Valley Aquatic Center (UVAC) today announced that Wendy Bordeau will become the organization’s new Executive Director, effective October 1, 2026.

Bordeau will succeed Joe Major, who has served as UVAC’s Executive Director for the past eight years. Following the transition, Major will remain involved with UVAC as a Marketing and Sales Consultant, focusing on revenue development, community partnerships, fundraising, and business development.

The transition will also allow Major to devote additional time to his political aspirations and commitment to public service while continuing to contribute to the long-term growth and success of UVAC.

“Serving as Executive Director of the Upper Valley Aquatic Center for the past eight years has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional career,” said Major. “UVAC is an extraordinary community asset, and I am incredibly proud of what our staff, board, members, volunteers, and community partners have accomplished together. I am equally excited about the future and confident that Wendy is the right person to lead this organization into its next chapter.”

Bordeau brings extensive experience in athletics, recreation, administration, and organizational leadership to the position. A magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University, she previously served as a Senior Associate Athletics Director at Dartmouth College, where she gained significant experience overseeing athletic programs, operations, staff, facilities, and community engagement.
